PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Our inspection team is equipped with the proper training and project management experience to provide our clients with peace of mind knowing their projects will be completed in time and on budget. Some of the services our team provides include:

  • 24/7 on-call assistance for project scheduling
  • Quality assurance and quality control documentation oversight (inspector to quality assurance and quality control personnel ratio of 10:1)
  • Consistent on-site compliance training (inspector-to-trainer ratio of 10:1)
  • Training manager with over 20 years of mainline, facility,and terminal inspection experience

PRE-ASSIGNMENT TRAINING

Before any assignments our inspection team is put through rigorous pre-assignment training to insure knowledge of the client’s requirements and fitness for project work. These training and pre-assignment assessments include the following as needed:

  • Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing
  • Qualification for DOT projects (where required)
  • American Petroleum Industry (API) 1169 certification for construction inspection projects
  • Industry design, construction, and maintenance standards training
    • API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards (MPMS)
    • 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 192 and 195 design, operation, and management
  • In-depth training focused on client standards, project implementation strategy, reporting, and documentation philosophy
  • Horsehead Consulting’s safety program (OSHA 40-hour, Safety 1, Excavation Safety, Life Critical, etc.), as well as client site-specific safety training requirements

EQUIPMENT

Our inspection team comes equipped with the requisite toolset and equipment to perform all inspection duties. Our standard equipment includes the following equipment as needed:

  • Flame-resistant clothing and other necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), 4-gas monitor (to monitor oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and flammable gasses)
  • Fully equipped technology, including mobile phone, tablet computer, wireless internet hotspot, and cellular service booster
  • Equipment to perform all operator qualification (OQ) inspection tasks, including magnetic particle and ultrasonic wall thickness measurement tools
  • Customer specified documentation program (Horsehead Consulting offers our proprietary documentation package)

MAINTENANCE

Horsehead Consulting’s Maintenance Inspectors are experts in Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA) standards,  industry practices, as well as our client’s specific standards. We specialize in mechanical and civil projects with active liquid and gas piping and terminal systems:

  • Mainline piping and booster station/compressor station systems
  • Gathering systems
  • Facilities including truck and rail

Our Maintenance Inspector’s are trained in API and PHMSA design standards to understand the requirements of DOT and non-DOT piping design and installation.

CONSTRUCTION

Our API 1169-certified inspectors are experts in new construction standards for mainline, facility, and gathering-pipeline construction, as well as mainline and facility mechanical and civil modification projects.
